We take to the seas for this exhilarating adventure to observe some of the most fascinating marine species to be found along the South African coastline. You will be collected from your accommodation in Cape Town and driven to the coastal village of Gansbaai, less than 3 hours outside of the city. Following an introduction and safety briefing, you'll enjoy a vegan muffin and hot drink before life-vests and waterproof jackets are handed out. We've partnered with an ethical, award-winning marine conservation company that takes you on an exploration along the coastline in search of whales, dolphins, seals, sharks, and penguins. The tour will not only bring you closer to marine life but offer a deeper understanding of the various challenges they face. Onboard, qualified marine biologists are ready to answer your questions and share their expert insights. With their trained eyes and knowledge of the area, you’ll have the best chance of spotting the marine wildlife that calls this region home. During the months of June to November, the Southern Right Whale migrates to our waters to mate and calve their young, while Humpback and Brydes whales are spotted throughout the year. Three species of dolphin patrol the waters and are a common encounter, while the approach to Geyser Rock offers a spectacular view of 60,000 Cape fur seals that cavort in the waters. As we navigate our way through Shark Alley towards Dyer Island, you are rewarded with a number of seabirds, not least of all, the critically endangered African Penguin. As we navigate our way back to the harbour we'll pass the shark-cage diving vessel before disembarking for a warm bowl of vegan soup and bread.
